Jbr 7....Lhaksmi Therapy for Bad Backs etc...

As if I needed anything else this trip on top of the eyelid surgery I'd read about the therapy given for bad backs. Having just recently joined the bad back sufferers, about 8 months and still disinclined to go see the Doc about it I decided why not give these people a go.
This would be the most painful event in my whole life, this was not massage, I thought I was never going to walk again let alone stand up. I phoned ahead for an appointment and promptly arrived at the designated time of 10.00am. I was seated and whilst my feet melted in a hot flowery bowl of water I was quizzed on the type of pain I was having. Lower back pain only after laying down for any length of time in the position similar to on a pool lounger or when reading in bed, turning over such as when having a massage or getting up after said massage. I am OK for bending, walking, working around the house etc..
Anyway into the back room, an understatement, this place is no bigger than an average lounge room; the front being the reception and the back cordoned off by a curtain and split in 2 by 2 massage tables. I undressed to undies and laid face down. Soothing music was put on the stereo and then the deep tissue massage started. I was told that this would be painful but the rewards would be beneficial. I had tears running down my nose, every time I thought I would have to say no more so he would move onto another area and I kept thinking oh! No he's got to do the other side yet. I'll be covered in bruises. Towards the end I was sure he was walking on my back and when I asked him after he said Yes all 75 Kg of him walked up and down my spine! At the end I sat up and he sat behind me and pulled my body in different directions, a few creaks and cracks were heard and then that was it. He left the room whilst I got dressed; I must say I felt great. I followed him to the reception and paid, 150,000 Rupiah and he informed me that maybe 2 other sessions were needed. I said I would think about it. Later after thinking about it I phoned and booked another session, had to be 3 days after the first to allow time to work it's magic! I felt battered and bruised all over my back especially my lower back and upper buttocks but not a bruise was to be seen.
I did have that other session, it wasn't as painful as the first as I was told it wouldn't be but I declined on a third session, he said if I was feeling better then it wasn't needed.
Did it work? I don't think so; I think I paid to have pain. Would it have worked if I had kept going? I don't know. I still have the pain and will before Christmas if I can fit it in get to my Doctor and see what is actually wrong, probably just old age creeping in. Should you go? It's up to the individual. The bit of advice he gave me that I will try to adhere to was lose weight, drink more water, eat more fruit/ vegetables and exercise....all things I know I should be doing BUT the best bit was before I kiss my husband I should kiss my knee!!!!!
