I have just been advised by Bali Discovery Tours in Sanur who where handling the booking of my accomodation in Bali that they want copies of my passport and front and "BACK" details of my credit card . I don't want to cast doubt about their honesty ( I believe they are a reputable company ),but I had to query why they want the back of my card details . Their application form says "for security and fraud purposes "but as the last three digits on the back of my card are my last line of defense against fraud I am reluctant to give it out .
They have an alternative method of payment eg. straight into their bank account ,and that attracts a US$45 fee.
I suppose for my peace of mind the bank account payment might be better .
I have seen similar post on the forum before, in fact I think I gave advice not to hand over the back of your credit card details.
So is this the standard practice now!
I would be interested in your comments, I think I need a puff on my Ventolin and a good stiff Bundy and Coke!
