I am not saying that dolphins should be kept in captivity, I agree with you, it is not natural. what I am saying is that it is not all black and white and that sometimes there is no choice.
I was working at Conservation and Land Management at the time, and I know the effort put into rehabilitation.It was a tremendous effort by all concerned. Underwater world had nowhere to house the dolphins, only a very small pool and therefore it wasnt suitable to put the dolphins back into there.
In hindsite, it may have been better to build a bigger pool for them and keep them in there instead of trying to set them free and then having to rehouse them in a small pool.
Doesnt always work out like FREE WILLY.
