We stayed at Persona once and found that part of Bali is peaceful and dead. I would not like to stay in Kuta, but I think it beats Seminyak. What a pity on your first visit you chose a place away from shops and restaurants. There are so many great, cheap places to stay, not too noisy with the ambience of Bali. I will wait with interest to hear more of your experiences and hope they contain good news, hope you have better luck for the remainder of you holiday.
