What is the price range you wish to pay? I can give some suggestion.
Generally, as long as you are near a MRT station (under ground train in the city & generally elevated above ground outside city), you would be very mobile. map & brouchure are available at airport. taxi is in abundance except near midnight when the rate increases 50%. taxi fare is abt half of melbourne price. taxi ride to the city is probably S$20+. There are various Road Pricing system in the city & highways which will confuse you.
The zoo is very well presented and it runs a very popular 'Night Safari' section as well. If you must visit Sentosa, consider skipping the under water world if you are from Sydney & presumably have been to the one at Darling Harbour.
You can visit some Indian temples and make some comparision with the Hindu temples in Bali. You can try some Malay food & see the difference with the Indonesian one.
You probably will give shopping & the beach a miss, having just had holiday in Bali.
As you have to clear custom twice before reaching home, you may have to go easy with your DVD purchase in Bali:))
