I like to stay at the Swissotel Merchant Court, it's in walking distance of Chinatown, on Clarke Quay so can take water taxis, the MTR is 30 seconds away so it's a perfect location.
Great for shopping, strolling and eating, it's more expensive than Bali but it's a vibrant city and worth a stay.
