very central,opposite Raffles and close to MTR.The Zoo-the Bird Park and go shopping to the outlying suburbs.MTR is fantastic and buses good also.There is a bus/tram which does a tour of city and you can get on and off.DON,T go to Bugis st. as it is now a tourist trap.
