It's sort of like basic Oz pub food - not that there's anything wrong with pub food but IndoNat's food is nowhere near what I imagine a chef would be looking for in Bali. It's basic & big serves & obviously satisfies very many tourists.

Plenty of other places that are innovative for not much more $ and besides, I figure a chef visiting Bali would be more interested in eating authentic local food & seeing how it's done than tourist tucker. He'd probably want to eat at warungs & chat & watch the old Ibu doing the cooking out the back than go to restaurants with Western-style chefs there.

Be sure to do a trip with him to the Jimbaran Seafood Markets one morning - just an awesome array of oh so fresh seafood. He'll be cursing that he doesn't have a kitchen there It's a MUST for anyone interested in food.
