I've done the lollpop thing myself and got heaps of fun out of it but it suddenly dawned on me the other day that maybe we shouldn't give lollies to any kids who are not with an adult. It's not just the dental problem but what about kids with diabetes or maybe some parents just wouldn't like strangers giving lollies to their kids if they are not around.
Worse still; it's a strange strange world we live in these days and I know most of our kids are taught "don't talk to strangers. Never take lollies from strangers".
What if westerners with good intentions giving out lollies leads an Indonesian kid to trust a stranger with lollies and bad intentions.
Yes, I know, bloody spoilsport but now I've thought of it I can't get it out of my head.
