we arrived home a week ago after staying 2 weeks at the Peneeda View. It was a lovely place to stay, not too large and the staff very friendly. Had a real family feel about it. Rooms were clean and gardens well maintained. The 3 small pools were adequate. The beachside restaurant had good, fairly prived food but the drinks were a bit expensive. We found a beach shack for cold cheap bintangs and the best noodles (3,000rp a plate full.) Just turn left at the beach side of the hotel, go about 50 meters and you will see a make-shift sign for cold drinks. It is run by a very friendly bunch of locals who love nothing more than a chat. If you go say hello from Deborah and Andrew - they will remember us!
Also, while I am here I had a fantastic full length leather coat made in Kuta. Beautifully made - post if anyone wants the details.
