yes that's corned brisket but many many years ago at the dawn of time my mum used to cook uncorned brisket like a pot roast because it was cheaper than other roast cuts. I've never seen it sold like this in Perth.
I like rendang too and have cooked it with stewing steak or gravy beef bothe ok. It needs that almost stringy texture doesn't it.
