I don't know about Amex but with the travel insurance offered by National gold card (read the fine print) you have to pay $250 excess for each claim made for the 4 things you are most likely to claim for eg medical etc. I was going to use this facility until I got the bank to give me a print out of its policy, about 60 pages. I now always use Covermore, no problems with them and a 10 day pay out. I hope this helps. Cheers, Stormy
