I spent a week this summer and enjoyed it, but it's a totally different experience from Bali.
First, you wil find far less tourists, and definitely not the same range of hotels if you are into the luxury or even budget luxury end of travel.
On the other hand-- the Scenery is fantasitc-- you have the chance to visit Komodo or Rinca Islands to see the Komodo Dragons-- there is snorkeling, at the other end of the Island you have the Moni volcano with Kelimutu, the tri-colored lake.
I flew into Labuhanbaju (near komodo) and hired a car/driver for the trip across the Island after visiting the National Park. Car cosot of about 500,000 daily.
