In Labuhanbaju and Maumere, where heat is an issue Air con was no problem. I was always able to get a western style toilet (usually with a toilet seat) but only got hot water in the shower once/ -- others offered to bring in buckets if cold water didn't cut it.
In the higher elevations along the route (Bajawa and Ende) it was cold enough to need covers at nite.
