Hi, I live in Jakarta, you dont need to take a connecting flight from Jakarta ...now on the new toll road...it only takes 1.5 hours to get to bandung. (it used to be 4 hours)

If you want to travel overland bali-surabaya then Bandung get a train. Dont bother with buses or motorbikes, it is too dangerous. I've driven back to Jakarta-Yogjakarta(central java 12 hours drive)several times and its pretty nerve racking!!!...roads arent good condition (huge pot hols) overnight buses drive crazy...etc etc...and if its wet season...lots of landsides and roads just dissapear.

the plane fares are pretty cheap off peak...i heard last night jakarta -surabaya is only 90 thousand one way on AIR ASIA....much quicker. other cheap airfares u can get from LION AIR...ADAM AIR...garuda is the most expensive....

any questions....just email me...click on my name above
