I had a look at the new Ubud Village Resort back in August. It is luxury villas with own pool in huge grounds - ricefields setting. It is just beautiful. It is a little outside Ubud, but not far and most importantly NOT up the hill (if you like to walk). I talked to the owner & he said they were in 'soft opening' period, so if you contact direct you get a better rate than you can through an agent.
