Hi
We got some of Jetstar's cheap flights and are off to Bali for a week mid feb 07. Yep I know it's the wet season but for a grand for the three of us for airfares out of Melbourne it's dirt cheap.
We've been to Phuket pre-child but never been to Bali. Obvious concerns about how safe it is aside whats the go:
- We'd be looking for 2br accom near a nice beach, out of town, and where the food is better than average, and has a good pool for the wee fella to muck around in. Kids club not necessary, though if they had babysitting service it'd be handy. Don't want to spend more than $AUD150 per night.
- Do we prebook via the web, wotif, or just prebook the first night and find something the next day as we arrive late evening.
- Apart from the usual shopping crap what activities could we do that'd interest the wee one. Boat trips are okay for us
- Are some areas more dangerous than others if anything does happen - ie in Phuket Patong Beach would be the first place to be hit, in Bali is it Kuta or all over the joint?
- We're fans of the Pacific Islands having been to Fiji a few times and Samoa though cost is why we're heading to Bali. Are there any places on the island that's close to that laidback no worries way of life that we've found in the island?
Thanks for your help
