Yes the staff of Virgin have been informed that this is on the agenda for Virgin, but they have not been given exact timeframes yet.
As it is Virgins policy to announce their flight intentions, when they have all the relevant approvals and cost effectiveness done first.
But when they started their pacific flights, Jetstar was not far behind, as these 2 airlines are in strict competition for the Australian dollar, so I personally would not think that Executives at Virgin would not consider it a good business move to delay their plans for 2 long and to let Jetstar get a good foothold on the route.
