A few years ago, I was in Jamaica and a rather uncultured American dived off the boat. He came up triumphantly from the dying coral reef clutching a conch shell. "It was the very last!" he boomed. "I got the last conch shell!". There was a silence. "What?" he said. "What'd I do? Y'all wish ya wuz me?"
Someone else will "get" the last tiger, the last Bali starling, the last turtle, the last elephant.
So could you be kind enough to explain what makes you want to have a creature on the brink of extinction killed so you can put your feet inside its skin? Please try, as I find it very hard to understand your mentality.
