that probably like a number of people of the forum I really don't know a great deal about illegal drugs except that I know that they can totally stuff up people's lives, are very addicted, can kill you & that they cost a hell of a lot of money to buy,way more than the average Joe or Jill Blow can afford.

Your post will no doubt get many emotional responses & no doubt someone will get stuck into me because of my comments but I am not setting out to be judgemental or offensive to anyone.I freely admit I have very limited understanding or knowledge of drugs.I have probably learnt the most over the past 5 years from what my kids came home & told me about what they were taught at schoolin health classes.I expect many parents are the same as I am.

I will not discuss the SC case here & what may or may not have happened.I know I am very naive when it comes to drugs but I personally do not think that the average person who deals in drugs wants to risk losing a lot of money if they can avoid it or that they would somehow or another pick a total stranger at random at an Aussie airport & somehow or another manage to sneak something into their bags that is worth thousands that may not end up getting to the destination that they hoped it will. Then again it may be a case of if they are trying to send 100 packages of whatever a week & 50% get through that they have still come out on top.As I said I do not understand much about drugs & dealing & how it may or may not work.

Okay - Aussie airport staff have been mentioned in the past but these drugs are worth a hell of a lot of money.Surely these dealers consider that the stuff will be found or discovered somewhere along the way before they get to it or the person at the other end receives it,the person travelling discovers it or officials intercept it but then again from my limited knowledge - people or human life hold very little value to dealers so they wouldn't really care if anyone gets hurt along the way.I still reckon there are way too many variables that could go against them though.Too many people involved along the way.

Then again - maybe I am just way too naive & this is a something that I have very limited knowledge about.

Monicac - In answer to your actual question.Only you can decide for yourself what feels right for you & your family.Locks on suitcases or anything will only keep honest people out.We don't make a big deal about locking our suitcases & never bother with plastic wrapping or security tags.If someone wants to "get" to your bag they will no matter what you have done to it ! I certainly am not offering you any words of wisdom, just personal comments. You are the only person that knows what feels right for you & need to make up your own mind on what to do regarding you & your families safety.
