In your post below you make the distinction between what is a villa and what is a room. (As does Alam Kul Kul's website) Now it's a 'room title.'
According to Baliblog, "'There are 3 types of villas available, Alam Villa, Java Villa and Bali Villa as well as 4 categories of rooms including a Family room. The hotel has in 80 rooms in total.'
Colleen's description is of a room, and the price her insurance company travel agent paid reflects this. The travel agent didn't help matters by telling her and the insurance company it was a hotel villa.
In response to your comment, "BTW the balconies in front of the rooms shelter the room from prying eyes, so you'd have to be bloody good to get a look in."
I've never stayed there in my life but it didn't take being "bloody good" to see that the interior of rooms can obviously be seen into from the paths. All i had to do was look at various website pics.
In response to your comment,"A teenie TV? What were you expecting? A Plasma? Best you head off to the Nikko or similar !"
Looking at Alam Kul Kul's website the tv in the double room is a good size and i'm hazarding a guess this is not the tv Colleen got.
I'd say Colleeen would not have been happy at this hotel even if she'd had a villa. Going by her comments it's not the place for me either. However, i have saved the hotel website to favourites as it's a benchmark for beautiful looking rooms. :)
