selly's WD40 disolves the glue (if it is the glue I have seen them use before) - undo the braids then a quirt of WD40 onto the bits of glue (do not spray your whole head) and you should be able to pick out the bits. Be very careful though and no-one sue me please if it all goes horribly wrong. I know a bit late for you now Seonaid, but for future reference when you are in the crazy mood again.
