Security at the MBR

Hi,
will be staying at MBR in Legian in May and was wondering about the securtiy boxes, are they at the reception desk or in the rooms? When we stayed next door at the Puri Raja they were at the reception and we felt quite safe about it. Has anyone had any trouble with their money, passports etc, and also, do you only take cash (I will have a card backup)or do you get it out of the ATM machines when you are there. When we were there in 2002, went to use Visa at Mataharis only to find it had expired the day before we left Oz but we hadnt been sent a replacement, several phone calls later with no help from bank we had no back up, went to ATM to get cash, hubbys work had not put in his holiday pay!!! Thank goodness we took cash. Interested in your replies
