Dengue fever is passed on by mosquitos and only occurs in tropic regions. Symptoms are rash, Fever, and severe head, back and muscle pain. It usually occurs in 2 phases. First is a fever, extreme weakness, headache, sore throat, muscle pains and peripheral oedema (swelling of the hands and feet.) There is usually a day of remission in between phases. (Who knows why) The seconde phase is a return of the fever and a bright red rash. It may take up to several weeks to recover fully. There is no treatment. All you can do is have analgesics. Panadol, neurofen, panadiene forte etc. Yes it is also called breakbone fever. The mosquitos that transmit this illness also transmitts yellow fever and a few other things. Hope this has been helpful. Cheers Jacinta
