local flight to Lombok (20 minutes) and then transport to Sengigi which can be organised there or when you book your ticket.
Then catch one of the small boats they use for transport to the Gili's.
Going by Ferry is about 2.5 - 3 hrs depending on the swells which can be quiet big due to the 10 k.m. deep Wallace Fault which is between the two islands of Bali and Lombok.
Booking a flight is best done asap as they can fill up fast and you could miss out.
