Thank you very much for the warning. For the non-flying locals, (they have to pay 1 million departure tax) the danger of the bends may be a foreign(er) concept. But very real none the less.
For what I can recall from a dive course, after a days diving you have to wait several days to fly otherwise flying is like coming up too fast - you get the bends. You are coming up not to the surface of the sea but to the surface of 30,000 feet or whatever and you have to do is slowly - not at the usuall 747 rapid rate of ascent !!!
I shudder to think how you would explain to the nice air- person that the plane MUST come donw to sea level because you are getting the bends. A WTF moment!
