Spent a few nights in Medewi in Sept '05. Can't give any info about a driver as we self-drove. There is only one option for accommodation other than basic losmens - Medewi Beach Cottages. On one side of the road is their el-cheapo accommodation and on the other is the better bungalows with pool, pleasant grounds and what would be superb ocean/surf views if there wasn't a security fence that almost totally hides the view. Not sure if they have family rooms but there is a connecting door between double rooms. Price was about A$40 for a double room with aircon, TV, Balinese bathroom, small verandah & brekky, including taxes. First price was $50US. Eat at the restaurants attached to the losmen for great fish, especially the one a short walk along the beach. The restaurant near the top of the hill is cheap, huge servings and quite good.
