We just rocked up - hubby surfs - weren't sure whether we'd stay at Belian or Medewi or elsewhere. Belian has some nice upper-losmen-type places but the surf was better at Medewi. The initial price was US$50, but it was more than we could afford and the price dropped quickly. The place was about half-full with mostly middle-aged Americans and this middle-aged Aussie couple. I guess it'd be worth phoning - the # in my Lonely Planet Guide is 40029.
