i travell to java 3 times a year on biz. then have 2/3 days in bali
for a bit of a break i was there august prior the 2nd "B" i estimate 30% of shops and restraunts closed.Ijust came back 3 days ago and i dont wish to describe what the status is like now,i really didnt believe this was bali,no one can prove to me that bali is recovering. and if the try and say otherwise then it is utter lies!
i travelled from jimb.bay to seminyak and things look very bleak for these people i did my best in spending nearly $600 in 2 days as as i have kids and wife.some regular shops in legian i knew no longer exist,a lot of staff have moved to the bigger cities .Nights dont exist anymore as most restaurants have no people dining and the bustling nite trade for shop are nil. I recieve regular emails as in news letters saying bali is improving and tourist numbers great, "BULLDUST" i have seen with my own eyes and believe me its more than 50% down.I will continue to support this island as it has been extremly good to me and my biz i will still spend my money there and give as much as i can cause this is the only way to recovery, one in tourism and the other monetry$$$$$$$$$$$.
good luck bali and its wonderful people.
