Dear Balimagic re Good taxi ride service

Dear Balimagic,
I am dying to ask you, is good service in a taxi ride mutually exclusive to the driver's ability to hold a conversation in English?

My funniest taxi experience ever was in Cairo. The driver spoke less than 10 words of English and I spoke less than 5 words of Arabic but we still got to the pyramids, just.
