Has anybody experiences with carrying surfboards with Qantas Airways? We'll leave on Thursday night (in 3 days!!) and now I found out they demand 125 Euro per board ans per way! That would mean 500 Euros (around 800 Aussi $) more for our holiday! When booking the flight two months ago the travel agenca told us they let register the boards at Qantas and that we must not come over 20kg luggage p.p. altogether including the boards. I believed the friendly lady. Why not?? She's the expert in talking with airways, not me!

My question now: Is Qantas generous in handling those "extra luggage things"? They told me boards not going over 158 centimeter length are free. Boogie Boards, or what?

We already travelled with Garuda, with Singapore Air, with Malaysia Air and Thai. There was never a problem and we had never to pay a Cent.

Please help us if you know anything. I see our travel budget disappearing....
