Alerting newcomers to the fact that there IS a search engine if they wish to use it, is not childish...it is providing information to assist them to also find perhaps even more information.
Yes anyone can post, no you don't have to answer (& can pass on by....and many now do)
The same questions may ..or may not get on ones nerves (more likely to get a mild sigh ...it is only a forum)
The point was how hard it was to search the archives as they were full of superfluous posts & replies....difficult to get to the info you want.
Repeat questions whether you like it or not, add to this.
