Last year when I was in Bali with my family, BB Guns were everywhere. Can you imagine how many times my 3 sons begged me and begged me to let them buy a BB Gun? I stayed strong and true to my word and did not allow them to buy one, even when it seemed as though EVERY other kid in a 10 mile radius had one. My kids probably thought I was the biatch mother from hell......oh well......
You should have seen some of the kids at the GVC letting rip with their BB Guns in public! I don't know how many times we had close calls, but in the end I went and complained to the parents and we didn't see the guns again. By the way.....the parents tried to make me feel bad and told me that I was spoiling their kids fun. I told them that I didn't think my son being hit in the eye by a BB Gun sounded like much fun.
To top that story off, one night we were walking down the street towards the beach, on our way to Pappas, when someone from a shop called my boys over to buy a BB Gun. They said that they weren't allowed to buy one and walked off to catch up with my husband and I. When they got a few metres away, the guy from the shop shot my son in the bottom with a BB Gun. It hurt him so much that he started crying(and bruised very badly by the next day!) and when I went back to look for him he had run off...this was an adult, mind you! I went back to the store and let rip on them and told them how dangerous this guys action had been. They were all laughing, but I didn't think it was very funny. I then went outside and spruiked negatively to people walking by not to buy from this shop as they found joy in shooting 9 year old boys with BB guns. Eventually, they came out and apologised, but it really left a bitter taste in my mouth.
If you can't tell by now, I hate the bloody things!
