The premise of the card scam is to get someone to agree to help rip someone else off -- in the case on this thread, a lady from Singapore was supposed to be the mark.
If you agree to rip someone off and get ripped off yourself, it's a little bit weird to then say "you can't trust these guys".
Of course you can't trust them. They even tell you that they're planning to rip someone off. Which is more honest than any sucker who agrees to go along with the scam. Did the sucker feel any sympathy for the lady from Singapore whose money he was going to take? No. So screw him. He got what he was planning to give someone else.
