We go between 11 and 14 days and find that we do tend to bring some money home, but it is good to have it just in case. You may want to spend some money on tailored clothing, leather jackets, jeans, shoes and all these things are a little more than the normal souvenirs. I have a family of 2 adults and 2 kids 12 and 10. We have worked out a budget and a shopping list and will take $4000.00. We will take $1000.00 in cash and the rest in travellers cheques just in case. We have been twice before and usually do the same. You can cash in your travellers chqs when you get back. Oh, and don't forget the duty free on your way there and back.
