Hey there, been to Bali 9 times and your worrying over nothing.
As long as you arent bringing in heaps of the same DVD and its obviously for personal use its no probs, we bought back over 100. Helpful hint though, get the DVD's in plastic sleeves not the cases as we discovered that 100 cases weighed in at 7kg and took up alot of space.
The only thing customs are really concerned about is WOOD PRODUCTS and similar. Just make sure there is no borer holes and sawdust (from bugs munching on it).
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BRING A DRUM BACK - CUSTOMS WILL EITHER CONFISCATE OR CUT THE SKIN OFF THE TOP.
BANANA SKIN PRODUCTS ARE ANOTHER NO-GO, this is usually found as a binding on books and photo albums, pale beige/brownish color with specks and spots of darker color. CUSTOMS LIKE TO HAVE THESE TOO.
BAMBOO is fine just make sure its clean and hole free.
If you plan on buying a heap of the one thing, spread it between a few different bags.
