No worries - I am currently trying to get over a hangover from last night so I am having a lazy day in. I don't mind helping you out at all. I kind of wish I had stumbled across this site before I left for Bali - it's very helpful!
Anyway, back onto the subject...
I mainly drank jungle juice, illusions and wine whilst I was there so these will be rough estimates from what I can remember when I did have the odd beer or spirit.
My boyfriend refused to pay over 10,000 for Bintang so we mainly drank in the little pubs down Poppies Lane 2 (which was Bagus Pub). I also had a few Bourbon & Cokes there which I think were about 25,000 (the boyfriend looked after the money so these are rough estimates remember).
My friends that visited Bali last October raved on about Bagus Pub for meals...I never actually ate there but they absolutely swore by it. I didn't know this until I got back. Things on their menu were VERY cheap. One friend said the steak was the best he had ever tasted. It's nothing to look at (Bagus Pub that is)but the staff are uneblievably friendly - especially Ricky who I absolutely adore and who also does very cheap day tours - and the atmosphere is good there too. All different ages and lots of people from all walks of life.
For pub meals, I don't think you'll be looking at much at all. Probably 100,000 for two people (approx $14 our money) - that's with drinks too.
We generally ate out at the restaurants in Bali for lunch and our lunches generally came to about 250,000! We do the whole two courses and lots of drinks though!
The only thing I could advise you on is be prepared for the massive changes in Bali since you have been. It's completely different. This was my first time back in 6 years and I was amazed at the difference. I hope it stays just how it is and doesn't become much more commercialised or it will lose it's appeal. Most of the restaurants over there are owned by Westerners now so you can expect the prices to be a bit more than what you'd be used to paying over there. Definitely still cheap though and very good quality. You can't go wrong.
You're making me want to jump on a plane and go back now...
I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help but I am sure you will get back into the swing of things when you get there. Heaps of people will respond to your posting too. They will most likely be much more helpful than me!! :)
