I'm heading back to Bali for a month in December for the first time since 1981. I was going through a few photos of that last trip with my kids the other day. One of the photos that caught my eye included a receipt from Kentucky Fried chicken. I'm pretty sure it was the day the fast food giant opened it's first store in Bali - Kuta.
The grand total for the bill was 5,100.
I also have a copy of the temporary motorcycle licence issued to me on 29/12/1980.To gain a temporary permit in those days you had to ride your bike around a circle 3 times one way and then turn around inside the circle and ride 3 times the other way. If your feet touched the ground, or you strayed outside the circle.....no licence. We stayed at Puspasari Legian and if I remember correctly it cost us the equivelent of about 50cents a day. No air con, not even a mosquito net. But we still had a ball.
It will be interesting to see how the place has changed after all this time !!
