The main problem with sea lice is that they get inside your bathers. Probably the best thing is to wear as little as you feel comfortable with. This is not a facetious answer. In Florida they have a similar situation, different species but same kind of rash etc. Considerable anecdotal evidence suggests that those who swim nude have little or no problem with sea lice.

In regard to clear calm water snorkelling, there is a nice little white sand beach in Candi Dasa which is not very well known. You walk for a few minutes past Legends Cafe until you get to Shangrila. From there until Resor Prima there is a good beach with close in live coral and fish. Access is through one of the hotels, but none of them seem to mind you walking through, particularly if you look as if you may be interested in staying sometime.

In front of Vienna Beach Hotel in Lipah [Amed] is very good at times, particularly at the least rise and fall of the tide. Jemeluk is also good. I understand that snorkelling is also good and easy in front of Good Karma, but I have not tried it there.
