Same, same with no real change. Yes a few shops and restaurants have closed and a few new ones have opened but nothing has really changed in fact things are very busy. There is a huge development, cinema and beach club complex, that is well underway just up from the Respati resort.
A little warning about the new walk way/cycle way along the beach front, or as many like to call it, the Drag Strip. While a great job has been done beautifying this area it has been overrun with EBikes swerving around walker/runners and bike riders. I think they are limited to 25kmph but that is still quick along a walkway. Some resorts have installed their own speed humps in an effort to slow them down. Just take care.
The new 'greener Bali' has seen a ban on plastic bags so a good idea is to bring 1 or 2 of those 'fold up to nothing' shopping bags so us tourists can do our part.
