I stayed at the Baleka several years ago before the reception renovation. I've only got good things to say. The location is excellent for restaurants, shopping and access to the beach. The rooms for large, spotless and whilst a little old, more thagood vale for the price. We used the newer of the two pools and it was lovely to relax around, pleasant and quiet. Try and get a room close to the pools, the back ones tend to be dark. The breakfast was not lavish by the standard of other more upmarket hotels but to mix mind it had what I needed.
Overall, I don't believe for an economical-priced hotel you cannot go wrong.
Oh, the bed was bed firm but I believe the mattresses have been replaced.
