But first, the day so far.
6am, walking the dog on the beach, looking at the postcard vista to the north, with the three visible volcano peaks behind the silhouette of lines of palms.
Kuta at its best.
No McDonalds now at Poppies One, but good coffee available at Indomaret and another place on the same site.
Some may be interested to know more about the concept of choosing to live across two cultures and places.
If one is retired, or has the capability, this may be an option.
I prefer this option, as it provides flexibility in terms of health management and I would not want to be part of a sometimes toxic full expat experience here.
I have chosen to live part of my life in a traditional local compound.
This helps in many ways, especially with language, as I pick up a lot by just listening to everyday chat.
I have long tenure, secure place for my bike and security with dogs on site.
I have all the up and downsides to property ownership, especially after a two year lockdown.
I have all normal chattels, TVs, fridges beds, electronics and all else across two countries.
I am also a dual tax payer with tax ID across both countries.
I have now divested all money earning properties and other ventures because at 75 + I have had enough and choose to enjoy the fruits.
It's obviously a lifestyle that attracts jealousies and bitterness among some who seem to resent my independence.
If you are interested in this concept I can advise more.
Now on to the rest of the day in my second home paradise.
