Sunday of course, so not so easy to get materials, but a run over to Kerobokan got it sorted.
This involves the racetrack, or as it is sometimes known... Sunset Rd.
Busy as always and local life seems to continue at pace regardless of the situation.
Passing by, and not taking my eye off the road too much I see Carefor is gone and rebranded as Trans Mart or similar.
Didn't stop as I was on the west bound lane.
Galael is closed and no word on opening.
This is a loss as it was handy for me for certain things.
Toko Central is open for those whom like to sew etc.
A couple of months ago, I stated that initial returns would be of a certain type.... be it business related, relationship related or just rusted on Bali travellers needing a fix.
Naturally this brought the usual howls of derision from the usual suspects, but I am now seeing it.
There will be exceptions of course, but the people here now are not fascinated by wooden willys or are rushing to buy the usual touristy stuff... which is a shame although predictable.
That will come down the track with family groups and Bali virgins.... but not now.
Traders have doors up more by the day as word of additional flights filters through.
Some of the Restos benefit because people have to eat, but people don't have to buy a Bintang tee shirt.
The deterioration of my place has injected some cash into the local economy as cleaners keep turning up whether I need them or not.
Starting to look good and benefitting from the long shutdown with a lot of hard work.
I wonder what's for dinner??
