After many years (35) enjoying a lot of the island, Kuta/Legian is where we choose to chill these days. So my observations are mainly centred in this area. As reported before the area is opening slowly (but definitely). From Seminyak to Canggu it appears life as normal. We also did a recce around Sanur and Nusa Dua and they are similar to here.
The signs are positive. Eg, in Poppies 1 a few more stalls have opened and a few more are being renovated. Speaking to the people at Treehouse, they are opening in May. There are 2 money changers in the lane. One guy, whom Kutafan might know, has relocated from near Kuta Townhouses to a new office in Poppies 1. A nice honest bloke.
My hat goes off to those that have opened to very little trade. They are operating under the principal 'build it and they will come '. All are looking forward to May, which makes sense, backed up by a surge in bookings and a greater influx of international flights.
We are perhaps a little miffed that, on our next visit, we will have to share the regal reception we have enjoyed.
