JQ was going on information from the Smartraveller website which had not been updated properly and still referred to the now revoked SE 13 regulation.
Indonesian Embassy in Canberra info was/is also outdated.
Many people contacted Smartraveller (DFAT) re the new regulation and the site has now been updated to remove the CHSE 3 day booking but the CHSE part remains
Until sites, airlines etc update properly there is going to be confusion
Re the current VOA, a ticket out has to be within 30 days and some have been denied boarding with other airlines.
Foreigners whereabouts are no longer reported to the police but to Immigration
They take note of where you are staying on arrival

Foreigner Reporting App.
APOA is an application created by the Directorate General of Immigration, and has now undergone a system update that previously could only be accessed through the website.
But with this latest version, hotel and lodging owners can report foreigners through the Stranger Reporting application which can be downloaded on the playstore and appstore on smartphones, besides that it can also be done through the apoa.imigrasi.go.id website.
This application can also make it easier for hotel owners to report, because it is enough to fill in the data on the application, without having to deliver to the Immigration Office
