listed below.
If spending time in Amed, I like to wander to the West, into the extremely steep hills to see what lies behind the thin veneer of the tourist strip.
I try to do this no matter where I visit.
Also simple things like wandering around central Denpasar, again away from more touristy parts.
There are some older colonial era buildings and other relics of the past to be found.
Simple things like walking the dog in the morning and interacting with other dogs along the way.
As you get to know them they also get to know you, and each reacts differently.
Having the scooter makes a huge difference to exploring, as if in the mood one can just hop on and go.
I have discovered many places of interest totally unplanned, just riding around away from central areas.
My other personal interest is in maintaining my properties and finding ways to improve them, going around timber yards and hardware outlets and dealing with various contractors.
Showing newbies around always provides a thrill, and seeing them become as intoxicated with Bali as I have been for many years (or not as the case may be!) is always most rewarding.
Hopefully, some of these simple pleasures will be back for all in the not too distant future.
