Look I didn't read in full all the post's but the Bali taxi price does not just go on the meters travelled but also on the time spent in the taxi as well. Being stuck (stopped) in traffic jam's the taxi meter still ticks over. I know from Padma Street to say Mata Hari is about Rp20,000 with normal traffic flow so if the traffic is bad we will get out once the meter reaches that amount. When converted into $Aus the amount for a taxi is pretty good imo
