I have been planning the dream for a little while now
While I am a long way off pension age, I did read somewhere online (disclosure #1 Not everything you read online is true) that you need to be residing in Australia for the two years before getting the pension ( or the majority of I assumed)
There seems so many different stuff online about pensions some from people saying they are getting and their circumstances, some on part pensions etc and I guess you should be getting direct answers from Centrelink (subject to change and subject who you talk to)
So my plan is to move before pension age and would like to hear more from nose hair on this. Read a lot on other forums, Facebook, blogs and several "manuals" on this. Some that may survive living the dream by selling such manuals!
Might be better with some down to earth nose hair advice.
Some questions
1/ do you need to be a citizen of indonesia to open a "guaranteed" bank account? Have heard yes and no on that. any other ideas
2/ is Citibank one of the better options to have a low or no fee bank account for security purposes so that can move money little at a time into your eftpos drawing out machine hole in the wall
3/ housing costs. Has anyone rented from balibudgethousing.com ? Seem to have reasonable priced long term housing or apartments monthly and yearly. With the laws on not being able to,buy land unless a local citizen (aside from loopholes which I may not trust) and not wanting a very long term lease there seem some reasonable priced options here. Sanur, Legian Seminyak Ubud Canggu etc etc
This may seem a more viable option if not wanting to purchase or may change and move somewhere else for 3 to 6 months Between leases (or picking fruit or whatever with nose hair)
