Plenty of accommodation options from $25 to $500
Lots of places to eat etc - walk to everything.
Candidasa itself is just over 1km long, just one street.
Amed is right at good diving and snorkelling, but is a bit sparse
and spread out over about 5km (best to have scooter or car).
If you stay in Candidasa, you can go on day tours to snorkelling
places, or go with a dive company (plenty here in CD to chose from).
You can go out snorkelling and diving (in Jakungs) right off the beach.
Ok ok, I live here, so bias, but it is a great base, and not too far
from everything (Ubud 1.5 hours max / Kuta 2 hours max / Amed 1.5 hours max)
