Buying Airline Tickets in Bali

We are in Bali in June and want to fly return from there to Phuket for a birthday. I have been told that it would be cheaper to buy the flights when in Bali than from Australia. Has anyone done this, and if so, can they recommend a reputable travel agent for me to go to once in Bali? Thanks
